Frequently asked questions

Where is my data stored?

Everything you write — mood check-ins, sleep logs, test results, letters — is stored only in a local database on your iPhone. MindRoom has no account system and makes no network requests, so your entries never reach us or anyone else.

How do I delete my data?

You can delete entries one at a time inside the app. To erase everything at once, delete the app from your iPhone — that removes all locally stored data. Deletion cannot be undone.

I switched phones and my entries are gone.

Because your data lives only on the device, it does not follow you to a new phone on its own. It is included in an encrypted iPhone backup (iCloud Backup or a Finder/iTunes backup), so restoring the new phone from such a backup brings it back. Without a backup, the data cannot be recovered.

How do I change the app language?

Open the Profile tab → Settings → Language. MindRoom is available in Nederlands, 繁體中文, and English, and you can switch at any time without restarting the app.

Does MindRoom need an account or an internet connection?

Neither. There is no sign-up, no login, and no server. Every feature — including all exercises and self-checks — works fully offline, in airplane mode.

Is MindRoom a medical service?

No. MindRoom offers self-observation and self-help tools. Its self-checks are not clinical diagnoses and cannot replace a licensed physician or therapist. If you are struggling, please reach out to a professional.

If you need help right now

MindRoom is not a crisis service. If you are in danger or thinking about harming yourself, please stop reading and reach out to someone around you right away. If there is immediate danger, call your local emergency number or go to the nearest medical facility.
